Working together

A collaborative process from the beginning.

I work with diverse client groups and a wide range of presenting difficulties. Psychotherapy begins as a collaborative process: we establish therapeutic goals together and develop an evidence-based treatment plan, incorporating psychometric assessment when it may be beneficial.

Children & Adolescents

Children and teenagers do not always have the words to explain what they are experiencing. Difficulties may instead show up through changes in mood, behaviour, relationships, school functioning or the way they cope.

How I can help

  • Anxiety, fears, panic & excessive worry
  • Low mood, depression & withdrawal
  • Emotional regulation, overwhelm & outbursts
  • ADHD, attention & concentration difficulties
  • Behavioural & oppositional difficulties
  • Self-esteem, confidence & identity
  • School stress & academic difficulties
  • Friendship, peer & social difficulties
  • Family conflict, separation & divorce
  • Trauma & difficult life experiences
  • Grief, bereavement & loss
  • Self-harm & unhealthy coping behaviours
  • Adjustment to change & major life transitions

Every young person is different. Therapy is adapted to their age, developmental needs and individual circumstances.

Individual Therapy

You don’t need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what is wrong before starting therapy. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty; at other times, you may simply feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck or unlike yourself.

How I can help

  • Anxiety, panic & persistent worry
  • Depression, low mood & loss of motivation
  • Stress, burnout & feeling overwhelmed
  • Trauma, PTSD & difficult past experiences
  • OCD, intrusive thoughts & compulsions
  • ADHD, attention & executive functioning difficulties
  • Emotional dysregulation & intense emotions
  • Self-esteem, confidence & identity
  • Grief, bereavement & loss
  • Anger & difficulty managing emotions
  • Relationship difficulties & recurring patterns
  • Boundaries, people-pleasing & interpersonal difficulties
  • Divorce, separation & relationship loss
  • Life transitions & adjustment difficulties
  • Self-harm & unhealthy coping patterns
  • Bipolar disorder & mood instability
  • Personality difficulties, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
  • Longstanding emotional or behavioural patterns

Therapy is tailored to you rather than simply to a diagnosis, with space to understand both what you are experiencing now and the patterns that may be contributing to it.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is not only for relationships in crisis. It can provide a space to understand recurring patterns, communicate more effectively and strengthen the way you navigate challenges together.

How I can help

  • Communication difficulties
  • Frequent conflict & recurring arguments
  • Emotional distance or disconnection
  • Difficulty feeling heard or understood
  • Trust difficulties & rebuilding trust
  • Recurring relationship patterns
  • Intimacy & emotional closeness
  • Premarital counselling
  • Navigating major life changes together
  • Differences in needs, expectations or values
  • Parenting & family-related pressures
  • Work, stress or external pressures affecting the relationship
  • Boundaries with family or others
  • Relationship uncertainty
  • Separation, transition or changing relationship dynamics

The aim is not to decide who is right or wrong, but to understand the patterns between you and create opportunities for healthier connection and communication.
